Delicious dry food for cats
With our delicious dry food for cats, you provide your house tiger with the best ingredients. Because your fluffy friend deserves a safe home where he/she is treated like royalty. And of course, a healthy cat meal should not be missing. So take a stroll to the nearest supermarket or have a look at our webshop. Bet your furry friend is waiting for you impatiently?
What ingredients does quality cat food contain?
Since cats are true carnivores by nature, the natural diet of your fluffy friend mainly consists of meat. Lots of meat. That’s why at Prima Diervoeding we believe that dry food for cats should contain a substantial amount of animal proteins. But essential nutrients — such as fats, minerals, and vitamins — should also not be missing from your house tiger’s cat meal.
The importance of taurine
Most animals naturally produce taurine themselves. However, this is not the case with cats. Since taurine is an essential nutrient, it is important to provide your fluffy friend with food containing the right amount of taurine. Taurine supports necessary functions, which we have conveniently listed here:
- Essential for proper heart muscle function
- Improves digestion
- Better absorption of good fats
- Regulates your cat’s body temperature
- Contributes to a better sense of smell
- Supports brain development
A taurine deficiency can result in heart muscle diseases, nervous or even aggressive behavior, blindness, and a weakened immune system. Moreover, kitten food must also contain sufficient taurine, as a deficiency can lead to developmental problems.
A supplement makes dry food for cats even tastier
Although our cat food is already delicious on its own, a supplement makes the cat meal completely irresistible! Sprinkle a few drops of salmon or sardine oil over your house tiger’s kibble and you’ll be showered with cat kisses. These oils are not only a tasty addition to dry food for cats; they also contribute to your house tiger’s health. Salmon or sardine oil improves kidney function and promotes healthy skin. Plus, your furry adventurer’s coat will shine beautifully.
Why give kitten food to your little fluff ball?
Good health starts at a young age; that’s why Prima Diervoeding’s range includes not only food for adult cats but also kitten food. To support your little rascal during their growth phase, your kitten needs a higher amount of essential nutrients. Think of proteins, vitamins, and minerals. Taurine completes the list; it helps with proper development of the nervous system, heart function, and vision.
Supplement your cat’s diet with wet food
Don’t be surprised if your fluffy friend drinks little; cats are naturally poor drinkers. Nice, but how do you ensure your house tiger gets enough fluids? Since wet food consists of 80% moisture, canned food is the ideal way to maintain your cat’s hydration. The amount of (animal) proteins is also an important reason to enrich your cat’s diet with wet food.
Reasons to choose grain-free cat food
There are quite a few misconceptions about the grain debate; some claim grains are bad for your cat, while others see no harm in them. To get straight to the point: grains are not inherently bad for your cat’s health. However, a caveat is necessary; grains must be well pre-cooked, unlocked, and added in the right amounts to the food. Still, your sensitive or allergic fluffy friend may have issues with (good) grains. That’s why at Prima Diervoeding we always recommend feeding your cat grain-reduced or grain-free cat food. This way, you can be sure no unpleasant complaints — such as itching and stomach or intestinal problems — will occur.
