The Tastiest Wet Food for Your Dog or Cat

Although the kibble from Prima Diervoeding is incredibly tasty, you can add an extra twist by including wet food. The high deliciousness factor is certainly a big plus, but the healthy composition is more than enough reason to bring wet food into your home. For example, there are no artificial fragrances, colors, or flavorings. And you won’t find any artificial preservatives in our wet food either. All in all, tasty and healthy canned food.

What Are the Pros and Cons?

The cons definitely don’t outweigh the pros, but to give you an idea, we list the advantages and disadvantages below.

More Moisture

Lots of moisture; that’s what wet food is known for. By enriching your dog’s or cat’s dry meal with canned food, you increase your pet’s moisture intake. Without your furry or fluffy friend even noticing! Ideal, right?

Delicious Aroma

A dog’s or cat’s nose picks up every tasty scent. So there’s a good chance your furry or fluffy companion won’t be able to resist a wet meal thanks to the strong aroma.

Pleasant Texture

Besides a strong aroma, healthy composition, and delicious taste, texture is just as important. For example, our house tigers are very picky about texture. Does your fluffy companion not eat their kibble well? Mix the dry food with some wet food. This way, you quickly create a pleasant, softer texture. This, of course, also applies to our furry friends.

A Higher Quantity

The moisture content of wet food generally ranges between 67 and 80%. For this reason, canned food contains fewer nutrients compared to dry food. So if you feed only wet food and no kibble, you will need to give more to provide the same amount of nutrients.

How Much Wet Food Should You Give?

Randomly giving your dog or cat some canned food is not an option. Instead, make sure your pet gets the right amount. The feeding table on the packaging is the guide; it calculates the correct amount based on your dog’s or cat’s weight. That way, it can never go wrong!

How to Prevent Spoilage

It would be a shame to have to throw away wet food after just one day. To prevent this, it’s important to cover the canned food well and store it in the refrigerator. If the wet food has been in the fridge for 2-3 days, throw it away. If your dog or cat doesn’t often enjoy a wet meal, you can also freeze it in portions.
