Skip the shelves with adult dog food; this food does
not contain the right amount of nutrients for your pup’s growth. Instead, choose puppy food that—compared to adult dog food—contains more essential nutrients.
Which Ingredients?
Ingredients like calcium, phosphorus, and vitamins A and D are essential for your pup’s health. Calcium contributes to strong bones and muscles and benefits your pup’s teeth. Phosphorus is also indispensable for healthy bone metabolism.
Vitamin A is crucial for your pup’s skin and eyes. But that’s not the only function of this nutrient; vitamin A also supports the defense and immune system of your furry little rascal. Like vitamin A, vitamin D also plays an important role in the immune system. Moreover, vitamin D ensures proper muscle function.
As necessary as these nutrients are, a healthy composition is incomplete without (animal) proteins, fats, and carbohydrates. Proteins contribute to muscles, organs, and the immune system. Additionally, (animal) proteins provide your pup with plenty of energy. Give the Right Amount

When Can You Switch to Adult Dog Food?
Once your pup has grown, your little friend can switch to adult dog food. Since this varies by weight, there is no one-size-fits-all answer. However, here is a guideline to help you:

- Medium breed (11–24 kilos) – around 12 months
- Large breed (25–44 kilos) – 15 to 18 months
- Very large breed (more than 45 kilos) – 18 to 24 months
