By giving your puppy four meals a day during the first 24 weeks, you ensure gradual growth. After these 24 weeks, divide the required amount over two to three meals per day.
Tip: always give meals at a fixed time; this creates more regularity.
Ensure Calmness
As cozy as it may be, try to keep your puppy away from other animals and playing children during mealtime. If you don’t, your energetic pup may develop food aggression. Also, your puppy might start eating too quickly out of fear that another dog or cat will take their kibble.
Furthermore, we advise against taking your little friend out for a walk during the first hour—ideally even the first two hours—after eating. Playing is also off-limits during the first hour. This helps prevent gastric torsion; so keep this in mind.
