Treat your dog to pig ears
Despite the higher fat content, our pig ears are gaining popularity. Although you shouldn’t give this chew snack too often, a pig ear — thanks to the drying process — contains a lot of meat, vitamins, and minerals. Note: do not give this snack to overweight dogs; the ears are a bit too fatty for them.
Grains and artificial additives? Not in this chew snack
At Prima Diervoeding, we are not fans of (too many) grains. That’s why you’ll mainly find grain-reduced and grain-free food in our webshop. Because too much (bad) grain can lead to digestive problems, itching, and vomiting. But don’t worry, due to the dried composition, a pig ear also contains no grains. Artificial additives — such as fragrances, colorings, and flavorings — are also not present in our food and dried snacks. Furthermore, artificial preservatives are replaced by vitamin E; a natural alternative that ensures longer shelf life. And that without the risk of unpleasant complaints.
Why your four-legged friend benefits from pig ears
A chew snack with a high tastiness factor is naturally a must. But did you know there are three more reasons to give your dog a pig ear? For example, a chew snack often serves as a toothbrush. The abrasive chewing motion helps your dog clean its teeth. This also reduces the amount of plaque and tartar. Additionally, chewing releases endorphins; a happiness chemical that gives your furry friend a calm and blissful feeling. Does your dog get bored quickly? With a chew snack, that’s a thing of the past. Chewing keeps your four-legged friend busy, which also helps protect your furniture.
Suitable for every dog?
This probably won’t come as a surprise, but a pig ear is too large a chew snack for small dogs. This also applies to puppies. Fortunately, our snack range offers a variety of treats that are suitable for your small dog and/or pup. Is your four-legged friend medium or large-sized? Then you can confidently give pig ears.
Pay attention to this feeding advice
Whether it’s a chew snack or a reward snack; never let your furry friend snack alone. Always be present and provide your dog with enough (fresh) drinking water. Note: this is a natural product. Therefore, shape, color, and size may vary.
